Want to bring more music into your life with young children? \u00a0How about starting your own Family Music Time! \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n You don’t need to know play an instrument. \u00a0Just bring the family together and sing a few of the songs you love. \u00a0One of my friends keeps it really simple. \u00a0She, her husband, and her five year old son each choose a song, and they sing them in the space between dinner and bedtime.<\/span><\/p>\n It’s a simple ritual\u00a0that can add so much warmth and life to your day.<\/span><\/p>\n To make it even more special, bring out some small percussion instruments for everyone to play. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Or, if your gathering is impromptu and outdoors, like mine was in this video, just watch your children improvise. \u00a0(Check out my son\u2019s \u201cinstrument\u201d in this video. \u00a0I think he\u2019s banging a broom on a metal colander from our mud kitchen!<\/span><\/p>\n In this video, you\u2019ll learn a great song to include in Family Music Time. \u00a0It’s simple and danceable for the whole family.<\/span><\/p>\n The lyrics might be hard to hear, so here they are:<\/span><\/p>\n Sandy Land<\/strong><\/p>\n Make my living in Sandy land Raise big taters in Sandy land Hop come along my pretty little miss
