{"id":2438,"date":"2018-01-13T16:16:13","date_gmt":"2018-01-13T16:16:13","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.noevenable.com\/singingcircles\/?p=2438"},"modified":"2018-01-14T23:36:03","modified_gmt":"2018-01-14T23:36:03","slug":"new-meadowlark-music-class-release-where-do-the-bear-cubs-go","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.noevenable.com\/singingcircles\/new-meadowlark-music-class-release-where-do-the-bear-cubs-go\/","title":{"rendered":"New Meadowlark Music Class Release &#8211; Where Do the Bear Cubs Go?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[et_pb_section bb_built=&#8221;1&#8243; admin_label=&#8221;section&#8221;][et_pb_row admin_label=&#8221;row&#8221;][et_pb_column type=&#8221;4_4&#8243;][et_pb_text admin_label=&#8221;Text&#8221; background_layout=&#8221;light&#8221; text_orientation=&#8221;left&#8221; use_border_color=&#8221;off&#8221; border_color=&#8221;#ffffff&#8221; border_style=&#8221;solid&#8221; text_font_size=&#8221;16&#8243; custom_padding=&#8221;|15%||15%&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our new Meadowlark Music Class album is finished!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Like all our releases, it\u2019s <strong>pay what you want<\/strong> to download. \u00a0Which means <strong>you\u2019re welcome to download and share it for free<\/strong>. \u00a0To those who decide to contribute, I am so grateful to you for supporting my work. \u00a0<strong>Thank you!<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong>About the Album<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>As you know if you\u2019ve been following me for a while, a little over a year ago, I created <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.noevenable.com\/singingcircles\/musicclass\/\">Meadowlark Music Class<\/a>, <\/strong>a <strong>nature inspired\u00a0music class<\/strong> for children and caregivers. \u00a0And, to go along with our in person meetings, I embarked on the wild experiment of trying to release <strong>a new album of family friendly music every three months. \u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Given that with my own singer songwriter music, it generally\u00a0takes me about <strong>five years<\/strong> to release an album, this idea seemed completely insane.<\/p>\n<p>SO insane that. . . \u00a0Well, I knew I had to try it. \u00a0\ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>In this past year, I\u2019ve released albums for Spring, Summer, Fall, and now\u2026 \u00a0Winter!<\/p>\n<p>So this album marks a full rotation of the seasonal wheel.<\/p>\n<p>Alongside balancing work and motherhood, it hasn\u2019t always been easy to meet that goal of getting a new album out each season. \u00a0But I\u2019m so glad\u00a0I\u2019ve managed to do it.<\/p>\n<p>Why? \u00a0We learn through doing. \u00a0The more times we do something, the better we get. \u00a0With every album, I strive to raise the barre. \u00a0I&#8217;m always tweaking things, in search of that magical\u00a0right balance between \u201c<strong>fun for children<\/strong>\u201d and \u201c<strong>nourishing \/ meaningful\u00a0for parents<\/strong>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s been quite a learning process for me. \u00a0I remember\u00a0my first music class at Natural Resources, last fall. \u00a0From the moment I started to sing to those\u00a0sweet, tiny faces, I knew that <strong>I loved doing this<\/strong>. \u00a0But I was so new to children&#8217;s music, \u00a0I have to confess that at first <strong>I\u00a0really didn&#8217;t know what I was doing!<\/strong> \u00a0(I belong to the<strong> just dive in<\/strong> school of learning!)<\/p>\n<p>But over the months,\u00a0as I&#8217;ve kept experimenting, I&#8217;ve learned\u00a0so much about <strong>what engages children<\/strong> at this age, and about <strong>what they need in order to grow musically.<\/strong> \u00a0My greatest teachers have been <strong>my own children<\/strong>, as well as <strong>the children in my classes.<\/strong> \u00a0So to see Peregrine <strong>dancing gleefully<\/strong> to the songs on this album, and <strong>giggling in all the right places, <\/strong>I\u00a0feel so happy to see that this work is starting to\u00a0come to fruition.<\/p>\n<p>I\u2019m sure I\u2019ll keep learning as I continue to grow with this process. \u00a0<strong>But I really do feel like this one represents a definite new level for me, in terms of writing, arranging, and production.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As with all the other albums, this one is <strong>home grown<\/strong>. \u00a0I <strong>recorded it in my home studio<\/strong>\u00a0and <strong>played<\/strong> all the instruments except <strong>violin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&#8230;This while waiting for <strong>little feet to stop tromping<\/strong> upstairs, <strong>putting the cat out<\/strong> to stop him from meowing through the shaker track &#8212; you can imagine. <strong>A very humorous process<\/strong>, compared to the eons of pristine studio time I enjoyed back when I was a home recording artist pre kids! \u00a0(<strong>Fellow artist Mamas, I know you can relate!<\/strong> \u00a0Ha!)<\/p>\n<p>A lot of the songs on the album are <strong>original<\/strong>, some are <strong>traditional<\/strong> with lyrics I&#8217;ve either written or adapted, and a few are gems I&#8217;ve learned while teaching in <strong>Waldorf early childhood<\/strong> classrooms.<\/p>\n<p>Listeners to this album will also hear&#8230; \u00a0<strong>Peregrine&#8217;s first song!<\/strong> \u00a0Peregrine is my daughter, age two. \u00a0Her song &#8220;<strong>Little Kitty Meowing<\/strong>,&#8221; is about seven\u00a0seconds long, but it&#8217;s totally a\u00a0song! \u00a0It is tucked before track three, <strong>Hoosen Johnny<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>I think you\u2019ll find this album sounds better (and <strong>LOUDER<\/strong>!). \u00a0This is really thanks to everyone who contributed financially last time, since those\u00a0contributions enabled me\u00a0to invest in <strong>an additional audio service<\/strong> that <strong>helps albums sound better on different speaker systems<\/strong>. \u00a0<strong>Thank you to all who helped make this possible!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>But most of all, thanks\u00a0for being with me on this journey<\/strong>, whether as <strong>a family in my classes<\/strong>, <strong>a listener from another geographical area<\/strong>, or simply <strong>a supportive fellow parent in community.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I am so grateful for your presence in my life.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Warm blessings to your family this winter, and I hope you enjoy the songs!<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>With love,<\/p>\n<p>Noe Venable<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_code admin_label=&#8221;Code&#8221;]&lt;iframe style=&#8221;border: 0; width: 350px; height: 470px;&#8221; src=&#8221;https:\/\/bandcamp.com\/EmbeddedPlayer\/album=2942067121\/size=large\/bgcol=ffffff\/linkcol=0687f5\/tracklist=false\/transparent=true\/&#8221; seamless&gt;&lt;a href=&#8221;http:\/\/meadowlarkmusicclass.bandcamp.com\/album\/where-do-the-bear-cubs-go&#8221;&gt;Where Do the Bear Cubs Go?
